$100m in contracts for materials handling equipment

UNITED Group will provide iron ore wagons, locomotives and acid tank wagons to three companies.

The contracts are reportedly worth around $100m in total. 315 iron ore wagons will be manufactured and delivered for BHP Billiton’s Pilbara operations.

Ten locomotives for hauling freight will be supplied to leasing company CFCL Australia, with a possible extension for an additional 30.

13 acid tank wagons will also be fabricated for Incitec Pivot, for fertiliser and explosives manufacturing.
