60th anniversary for water handling and treatment company

JOHN Meunier, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies, is celebrating its 60th anniversary in June 2008.

The company was founded in 1948 and provides drinking water, wastewater and stormwater treatment, storage and handling technologies throughout North America.

Its products and technologies include an Escalator Bar screen, which is a perforated fine screen for solids removal in headworks of wastewater treatment plants, FluidSetp vortex separator for treating stormwater, Actiflo, a ballasted flocculation physico-chemical treatment solution, and Biostyr, a compact biologically aerated filtration technology to treat urban wastewater.

As a key research and development company in Veolia, John Meunier manufactures and assembles its fluid handling technology in Canada in a 4500 square metre production shop.

According to the water treatment specialist, the next big thing in wastewater treatment will be the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor, which was acquired by Veolia in August 2007.
