SCHENKER Australia says it is streamlining its Sydney operations into a new Yennora logistics hub.
Schenker Australia says the new warehouse and distribution centre will link the rural and regional economies of Australia with the global economy. The Yennora location will allow the company to feed freight into the interstate rail freight terminal.
According to Schenker Australia, the rail and road transport integration will help reduce road transport and the number of trucks in the congested Sydney metro area. This will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions and increase road safety.
The Schenker Australia facility will consist of two buildings with 20,000 square meters and 12,000 square meters joined by a 3,800 square meters breezeway.
All goods handling operations will be 100% under cover, and there are 27 rear loading docks, nine roller door access, a large truck hard stand area and other features allowing for a seamless flow of goods from receiving to shipping.
