ACCUWEIGH’S Brisbane North branch has supplied a custom platform scale to a major smallgoods processor.
Accuweigh says the platform scale addressed Occupational Health and Safety issues (OH&S) when weighing bulk smallgoods ingredients in the client’s food processing room.
According to Accuweigh, the client requested a low profile platform scale with ramps at each end, allowing staff to wheel trolleys onto the weighing surface with minimal effort.
After weighing, the trolleys needed to be moved forward to exit the platform scales and alleviate the need for reversing the trolley’s direction of travel.
Accuweigh says the second OH&S issue required the platform scales to have a non-slip weighing surface, providing sure footing for staff moving the trolleys. The issue was addressed by rough bead blasting of the weigh plate and ramps.
An Accuweigh X-320 digital weight indicator, rated to IP69K, was fitted to the platform scales for complete waterproofing protection.
