BAILEYS Fertilisers has ordered a second conveyor system for its manufacturing facility in Kwinana, Western Australia.
This followed the successful installation of an Innovative Conveying System (ICS) conveyor in August 2007. According to the company, the conveyor improved production output by eliminating product spillage and improving general operation.
The client also praised ICS for its after-sales service. According to the conveyor provider, it uses data generated from field systems to improve the design and manufacture of future products. The second conveyor will integrate lessons learnt during this process.
The new conveyor system will handle mulch, potting mix and soil condition at a rate of 10 tonnes per hour from a feeder outside the manufacturing facility. The material will be conveyed across a distance of around 30m to the bagging machine inside the facility.
The conveyor will enter the building suspended from the roof, from which the material will discharge into the hopper for bagging.
ICS will be providing a full turnkey solution which includes the hopper with feeder and full control integration with the bagging machine. It will also provide covers for the new conveyor, because the system will be running below an existing conveyor system which is prone to spillage.
According to the company, its conveyor systems are solutions for the mining, agriculture, construction, ports, power generation and waste-management industries, and can handle materials at rates of up to 2000 tonnes per hour.
