Foster to study LNG project

SANTOS has contracted Foster Wheeler Energy to undertake a six-month study of a natural gas processing facility for its Gladstone project in Queensland.

The study is for a pre-front-end engineering design for Santos’ planned Gladstone liquefied natural gas project.

The proposal is for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility which will handle three to four million tonnes of LNG per year.

According to the companies, the proposed project would be one of the first LNG facilities in the world to use coal-bed methane as a source of LNG production.
