Machinery Automation & Robotics optimises high-speed grain handling line

MACHINERY Automation & Robotics says it has helped a major agribusiness implement a high-speed grain handling and bagging line.

The unnamed company processes and markets more than 1.5m tonnes of paddy rice annually, and was challenged to meet supply and packaging requirements of both the domestic and export markets.

It therefore commissioned a fully automated, purpose-built packaging plant.

The system consists of six production lines conveying multiple products along the high-speed packing machines to two palletisers. The system can handle up to 38 products of bag sizes ranging from 500g to 10kg, and can convey both boxes and bundles.

The company needed to find a turnkey automation solution with the flexibility to maintain precise control of the automated conveyors, while achieving maximum operating efficiency.

Machinery Automation & Robotics (MAR) completed the line control automation of the 34 motors powering the production lines and palletisers to ensure a range of products could be efficiently stored and conveyed to the palletisers at high speed.

This allowed the bagging and production lines to operate at full capacity all the time.
