A FACTORY worker in Melbourne sustained serious leg injuries after being pulled into a conveyor.

On 3 October 2009, the Armadale woman was cleaning the conveyor belt at a food processing plant at Kensington, Melbourne, when her leg became stuck and was pulled into the machine.

The worker remained trapped for an hour while fire brigade officers and paramedics worked to free her. She was given pain relief while the firefighters cut her out.

She sustained lower leg injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. WorkSafe Victoria representatives attended the scene of the accident, and are investigating.
