SIEMENS has released a single measurement unit for measuring and controlling fluids so as to maintain accurate and measured concentrations in mixtures.
The Wallace & Tiernan Single Function Controller (SFC) can be used with devices like dosing pumps, electric stroke positioners and continuous actuators. It consists of an electronic module, a flow cell module and a sensor measuring module. Multiple electronic modules can be combined using a CAN sensor/actuator bus.
Unlike the Multi-Function Controller (MFC), the new device cannot measure more than one unit, though both have the same modular design and operation functions.
The SFC is suited for a variety of industries, including the water, industrial process, food, beverage and waste water sectors.
A portfolio of measurements are available for the device, such as parameters for free chlorine, total chlorine, pH value, redox voltage, conductivity, chlorine dioxide, ozone, potassium permanganate, fluoride and temperature.
Four control options are available, including flow proportional control, feed forward control, closed-loop and compound-loop controls.
