COMPRESSED Air Australia has released a new EXAIR stainless steel air knife suited for highly corrosive environments.
According to the company, the Type 316 Stainless Steel Super Air Knife can efficiently create an air barrier, blow off, clean and dry in harsh applications at temperatures up to 427 degrees Celsius.
The airstream is said to be high volume and high velocity, suited for blocking vapours and fumes on plating operations, blowing corrosive chemicals off parts, drying products, and cooling hot materials.
The air knife ejects a small amount of compressed air through a thin slotted nozzle. This uniform sheet of air pulls in surrounding room at and amplifies it by 40 times. This technology is said to use a third of the air of typical blowoffs.
